Nir Tsfaty is a Melbourne-based composer, songwriter and record producer.

Over the past decade, he has composed music for film, advertising, TV, dance and theatre.
Nir's portfolio includes projects for ABC, Respect Victoria, iSelect(Bronze winner, 2022 New York Festivals Advertising Awards), David Jones, Jalna, Hapoel Jerusalem B.C, Sinfonietta Be'er Sheva Orchestra and Jerusalem Street Orchestra and more.

As a songwriter, Nir has led the alternative rock/pop bands Noria and Bell Always, with whom he has recorded three studio albums and played hundreds of shows in Israel and Australia.
Nir's songs were chosen four times as Song of The Week on Israeli national radio 88fm.

These days, Nir plays concerts of his new solo project, About Whales — poetic pop songs with a cinematic appeal.
In 2020, he started collaborating with Invictus Quartet, and together, they have played two headline shows in Melbourne, both sold out, including the premiere at Melbourne Recital Centre in July 2021.

Nir's musical skills, versatility and broad knowledge, allow him to compose in different genres and styles while maintaining an authentic, original voice.
His music is warm and dynamically broad - from whispery solo instrumentals, through chamber sound and up to symphonic emotional peaks. His production approach brings to each project polished compositions with a hand-crafted quality.

Nir is also a dedicated educator with 11 years of experience teaching guitar, composition, songwriting and music theory. He has 3.5 years of experience as a classroom teacher and developer of unique musical courses.
