Nir Tsfaty is a Melbourne-based composer, songwriter and record producer.

Over the past decade, Nir has been writing music for T.V and radio commercials, film, dance and theatre with projects, including Respect Victoria, David Jones, Jalna, Bic in Australia and Hapoel Jerusalem B.C, Sinfonietta Be'er Sheva Orchestra and Jerusalem Street Orchestra in Israel.

As a songwriter, Nir has been leading the alternative rock/pop bands Noria and Bell Always. With them, he has recorded three studio albums and played hundreds of shows in Israel and Australia.
Nir's songs have been chosen four times as Song of The Week on Israeli national radio 88fm.

These days, Nir plays concerts of his new solo project, About Whales — poetic pop songs with a cinematic appeal.
In 2020, he started collaborating with Invictus Quartet. Together, they have played two headline shows in Melbourne, both sold-out, including the premiere at Melbourne Recital Centre in July 2021.

Nir's musical skills, versatility and broad knowledge allow him to compose in different genres and styles while maintaining an authentic, original voice.
His music is warm and dynamically broad - from whispery solo instrumentals, through chamber sound and up to symphonic emotional peaks. His production approach brings to each project polished compositions with a hand-crafted quality.

Nir is also a dedicated educator with ten years of experience teaching guitar, composition, songwriting and music theory. He has 3.5 years of experience as a classroom teacher and developer of unique musical courses.
